Spookiest Day at BU

In the spirit of Halloween I thought I would share my spookiest day as a graduate student with BU. I must warn you this can be very very scare if you are academically sensitive! It was a dark and hot night (like most in Tucson) and I was just finishing my 15 page marketing plan for Sing and Scrub hand wash for kids. The marketing plan was amazing, colorful and captivating. I just knew I would soon be making millions. What I didn't know was there was a technology ghoul waiting to create chaos in the Saelens home. As I finished my plan I clicked on the save icon at the top of the paper and then closed the document. In my usual semi-paranoid fashion I looked in my documents folder to make sure my golden ticket had been saved. AAAAHHHHHHHHH it wasn't saved. What happened? I began chatting with Microsoft experts for help and discovered that if you open a document in an email attachment (I started working on the plan at work and emailed it to my home email) it opens in a temporary file and will not be saved if you simply click on the saved icon! I reluctantly redid the entire marketing plan...after several glasses of wine of course. The spookiest part is that I have yet to see the millions I dreamed of. Share your spooky story!

Erin,
I had the same issue happen with me ONCE. And from that point forward, I always perform save as before I begin work on the document.

Did you do anything else with your marketing plan other than as a school project?

Don't let anyone tell you different about your color scheme, I think it great, shows character. My is very subdued and conservative...I doubt it will draw a lot of attention, but if not for school project, I would NEVER have a blog.

Thanks for sharing your "scary" story.
